KG) from Winnenden, Germany.  The company’s headquarters directs a worldwide operating company and heads the production of cleaning machines and complete cleaning systems.  Since its foundation in 1935, Kärcher has grown enormously and has subsidaries in over 40 countries.  The company was originally started in Bad Cannstatt near Stuttgart, Germany, by Alfred Kärcher and it moved to Winnenden 4 years later.  At first they made electrical ovens for industrial purposes but with the invention of the high pressure hose, their production emphasis changed.  Kärcher was instrumental in the development and perfectioning of the high pressure hose which has made the company the worldwide best known producer of such appliances.  Through the perpetual development of their range of products, they are able to offer nearly all items in the area of cleaning – sweepers, vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners and dry ice sprayers.  They are now also on the worldwide market with water treatment plants and products for protection against ABC weapons.  Through continuous developments and innovations, the success of the company is continously being expanded and they are making their mark on environmental issues.  The environment is very important for the company and it is anchored in their company philosophy and they have already won some environmental prizes. more text
